I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, where I grew up running wild in the North Saskatchewan River Valley. I have been living and working in Lethbridge, Alberta since 1989.

2019-21 Migratory Paths

Edmonton Convention Centre Atrium Public Art Project, Edmonton, AB $50,000 budget.

Project details were completed in the summer of 2020. Migratory Paths is scheduled for installation on May 10, 2021. Migratory Paths, represents the movement a flock of golden ceramic birds as they traverse the interior space of the atrium of the Edmonton Convention Centre. There are 2035, hand modeled ceramic birds threaded onto 735 cables that are suspended from a steel armature. The materials used in Migratory Paths are; clay, glaze, gold, copper/zinc, steel stainless, steel and rigging hardware.

2010-11 Aeolian Aviary

Southern Alberta Art Gallery Public Art Project, City of Lethbridge, AB $180,000 budget

This sculpture combines my experiences as sculptor and fabricator as I explore representations of avian movement with my collaborator’s Denton Fredrickson’s, interests and experience making unique instruments using computer programing and electronics. 2003-04 Stella Ripa

Alumni Sculpture Garden, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC $10,000 budget

Stella Ripa was originally developed for a temporary installation in the Alumni Sculpture Garden at Chapel Hill. In 2005, I donated Stella Ripa to the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery, and in 2008 it was permanently installed on campus in Markin Hall. The CRDC valuation of Stella Ripa was $35,000.
